If you had a choice!

I would be interested to find out what platform you .NET developers prefer to use as your main Visual Studio 2008 box?

  • XP
  • XP 64
  • Vista
  • Vista 64
  • Server 2008

Let me know!

Currently 32bit vista ultimate on 2 year old dell laptop bought for that purpose. Next laptop, next year sometime I'll definetly go with vista64 or perhaps win2k8 with hypervisor and go 100% virtual.

Vista x64 (currently using), just wish the stupid bug with creating SQL databases from inside Visual Studio would disappear and let me do it.

Hmmm..

Given the choice, I'd say XP64.

More stable than Vista, larger base of legacy sleuthing tools.

We use Server 2003 R2 x64 for our dev boxes.

32-bit Vista Business SP1, on a Dell Latitude D830 w/ 4Gb RAM, bought specifically for this purpose.

I had some issues running Vista RTM on less well-endowed machines, but I'm really happy with my current setup.
