VS-TS_rgb_thumb[2][5][5][5]Connecting Visual Studio 2010 to Team Foundation Server 2008 is a snitch… If you have done it from VS200x to TFS200x then you will have no problems understanding what is going on…

Unlike previous versions of Team Suit there is not need to install Team Explorer separately as it comes preinstalled.

As you can see, when connecting to a TFS 2008 server you can see a single Team Projects collection called “Legacy server”, and a list of your projects. For more information about Project Collections try Brian Harry’s blog. Once Connected you have all the usual suspects, but just a little prettier…

In my install of VS2010 Beta1 there are no course control plug-ins (ref. Options menu). Hence I do not have the tool menu items you show in your screenshots.

I used the ISO provided by microsoft, on a Vista machine.

Do I just install the TFS2008 client software? Because that sounds like a compatibility nightmare waiting to happen.

You need to install Visual Studio 2010 Team Suit to get TFS integratrion with beta 1

This may be an obvious issue to some, but how do I get TFS builds to compile .Net Framework 4.0 assemblies?
Is it as simple as installing .Net Framework 4.0 on the TFS build server??

I can connect to TFS from my vs2010. but the team explorer is blank. In source controller , all the project list appears.
Can anyone suggest how can i have all the items in team explorer.

You need to select the “Add Projects” button at the top of the Team Explorer and select the projects you want to see.

I am having the same issue with team explorer being blank. It seems there is a problem when you are not an admin.
